What We Believe

Here are foundational truths that guide believers at New Hope Chapel.

God is living and eternal. God is love, and is completely holy, wise, and all-powerful. God is one being, who exists as three co-equal persons: described in the Bible as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

When God created the world, people were in a perfect relationship with God, each other, and creation. Then people broke with God and sinned. The harmful effects of sin continue to be felt today. God sent the Son, Jesus, who died, was buried, and came back from death to offer forgiveness for sin and offer restoration of the relationship with God.

We are given new life when we trust in Jesus and we receive God’s Holy Spirit. Jesus has promised to return one day and receive us into his eternal home.

God works in all believers throughout their lives to transform them into the likeness of Jesus. Believers are encouraged to respond in faith by following Jesus and his instruction, and growing in love for God and for others.

The Bible is God’s message to humanity and as such it is central to the faith and life of believers. Its human authors wrote through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and it contains what God wanted to say.
