Those who regularly attend New Hope Chapel and engage in fellowship with the body ofbelievers are considered part of the church family.
Some members of the church family have taken the additional step to become Church Stewards, committing to governing the spiritual and financial matters of the church. At annual meetings, Stewards vote on the budget, any changes to the by-laws, or other important church matters. Special meetings are occasionally called for any special situation that arises.
Our pastoral leadership operates as a team to shepherd and encourage the body of Christ. They lead by example rather than from hierarchy. Everyone at New Hope is traveling the same road and working to support each other in their spiritual journey. Our pastors operate in that spirit.
We are an egalitarian church (no traditional gender “roles”) and believe this is what Scripture teaches. The Holy Spirit has endowed each person with spiritual gifts and wants us to use them to build up the body.
From the platform, you will get:
In-depth teaching from the Bible
Inspiration to know and understand God
Encouragement for your spiritual journey
Practical ways you can live out what the Bible teaches
What you will NOT hear from the platform:
Guilt tactics
Judgment or condemnation
Transparency and honesty are valued at New Hope. There is no need to put on a good front or feel shame or inadequacy, because love is unconditional here. Come just as you are—no need for pretense. You are safe here.
Questions are welcome. God is big enough to handle our doubts and complications in life. We are so happy to work together to get those difficult issues resolved.
Many political views are represented in our community members, as well as a variety of personal convictions. We respect each other and agree to accept our differences. Our focus is on Jesus and the Kingdom of Heaven.
Commitment to the Word of God guides us. It is God’s revelation and contains what we need for “life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:2-3). Scripture is Holy Spirit-inspired and is always given the respect it deserves at New Hope Chapel. It is an important tool that the Spirit uses to transform us. We encourage everyone to personally engage with the Word and (with the Holy Spirit’s guidance) think for themselves.
There is a strong sense of community at New Hope. When someone hurts, we hurt with them. When someone rejoices, we share their joy. We are committed to each other and do what we can to bear each other’s burdens and provide help in times of need. This is a group that values a supportive group dynamic.
Commitment to prayer. A portion of every Sunday service includes an opportunity for people to share blessings and concerns. God has been faithful to answer many requests we have made as a group. We believe in the power of prayer. As individuals, we also view prayer as a time that includes listening for the Spirit’s guidance and an opportunity to personally connect with God.
Our children matter. They are often included in what might normally be considered “adult activities.” While we provide programs specifically for their age groups, they are an important part of the body and are invited to participate with adults regularly. We do what we can to encourage those in their developmental years.
